Dating back to the first few centuries of Christianity there has been a tradition known as the “Station Churches” in Rome. Every day of Lent is assigned a different Church or station. In the early Church, the Popes would celebrate Mass each day at the particular Church. Today, the Pope just celebrates the Mass on Ash Wednesday at Santa Sabina.

This Lent I have been documenting my Lenten pilgrimage on Instagram. Everyday I try to post “stories” on the journey, as well as one regular post with a quote from the Church’s liturgy of the day. Usually these quotes have been coming from the Liturgy of the Hours, specifically, the Office of Readings.

Despite my delay, or frankly, just not thinking about it, I have decided to share those posts here on my blog as well. You can come back each day to find more posts.
