I am a Roman Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Jefferson City. I am currently assigned to further studies in Fundamental Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. I reside at the Casa Santa Maria, the graduate house for priests, part of the Pontifical North American College.

I most recently served as the associate pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Columbia, Mo. during the week. During the week I also assisted the pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes, also in Columbia, Mo. On the weekends I served as Sacramental Minister to St. Mary’s in Milan, Mo. as well as St. Mary’s in Unionville, Mo.

Prior to that I served as associate pastor of the three parishes in Pettis County, Mo., Sacred Heart and St. Patrick’s in Sedalia as well as St. John’s in Bahner. I also worked at the K-12 Sacred Heart School, where I taught 11/12th grade religion.

I completed my philosophical studies at Conception Seminary College. I then participated in the program for priestly formation at the Pontifical North American College. My studies took place at the Pontifical Gregorian University. I completed a S.T.B. Summa Cum Laude in 2014. I then began an S.T.L. in Fundamental Theology, the completion of that degree has been put on hold for now as there were more pressing pastoral needs in my diocese.

Before I entered the seminary I worked as a journalist for different organizations and outlets. In the past this site was used as a “portfolio” where I linked to my published work so that you, my family and friends could find the articles which were being published all over the world. Now I use this to share updates on my experiences, thoughts and homilies.

  1. There used to be a decent trattoria on the Via della Pilotta near the fountain–good calzone. Not that you have much time to eat while studying at the Greg. 🙂 God bless! My prayers daily for you.

  2. Geoffrey,
    I’ve enjoyed reading through your blog very much. The insiders view to recent history at the Vatican is most fascinating. I am thrilled to see that I am not in the vast minority that many would insinuate by keeping the faith – all of it, regardless of rationalism and current pop psychology. Thank you for the insights, and feel free to write me direct if you have comments or criticism on my blog. My email is at the end of every post.

  3. Thank you for following my blog. I look forward to your blog updates. Feel free to connect with me via social media. God Bless Geoffrey!

  4. Thanks for stopping by to follow. And when I read about you, how could I not do the same? Blessings!

    Praying for you +++

    Off to daily mass 🙂

  5. Thanks for the follow Geoffrey! I will keep you and your priestly formation in my prayers. Are you currently studying at the PNAC in Rome? I wonder if you know a dear friend of mine who is also studying there? His name is Jack Schrader. Either way, I am pleased to have been connected with you.

  6. Two thumbs up for seminarians 🙂 Praying for you as you continue serving God! You’ve got some great things on your blog, I always like finding other Catholics out there in the blog-o-sphere!

  7. Thanks so much for following my blog! It’s my creative outlet. 🙂 May God pour His blessings upon you as you study to become a priest! Many prayers from my family.
